This video is on a topic that strangely results in skepticism so I'd encourage you, if you don't believe anything said, to look at the number on the bottom left of the video when something is said, find the corresponding number in the description, and read the source of the info. Every assertive fact in this video was researched and published by someone with far more qualifications than myself so those references are the ones to read to learn more.

9:40 You lied. It snowed about half a dozen times in Lapland in November 2018. Also, the "lacked any snow due to unseasonably high temperatures" is another alarmist lie. The snow being lighter than usual - but still quite present - wasn't due to the temperature at all, which was more than low enough almost every single day of the month. "A future without snow in the [insanely frigid] region-" Even more jaw-droppingly ignorant, fear-mongering BS. You had my "like" until you spewed all of that alarmist propaganda; now it's a dislike. Like this comment so he may see it one day, if you feel like it. By the way, these are just a few of half a dozen+ examples after 9:40; I could easily go on. "Not political," my ass. Acts speak louder than words.

Conspiracy: world powers are intentionally warming and cooling the planet in order to access untapped oil in the future when reserves run dry. It's sounds so selfish and completely not in the interests of humanity so I can only assume they have atleast considered and tried to work out how to make it feasible and profitable.

@Van Ivanov Wow you're a nutcase. https://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/global-temperature/ https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ There is the evidence.

Aasta tagasi

Polar ice caps reached new records, in recent years. Recently, people have been saying that it getting colder is a sign it is getting hotter. To top it off, global temperature measurements from around the world if anything are going down lately, not up. I really do wish it was warming, as all the most prosperous times in history were during warm periods, several degrees hotter than today, back when they had vineyards in Scotland and didn't see snow. Back when Greenland was Green. Unfortunately, "facts" today means computer models and statistical manipulation. Not observation, not history, not reality... but what you can pen to paper or shop in a computer alone, which must not be met with any skepticism lest it reveal how paper-thin it is.

Aasta tagasi

Have you considered that people might be expressing skepticism at your chosen presentation of the facts more so than the facts themselves? A fact dressed up in rhetoric is very often responsible for just as much misinformation as a lie-much of language's meaning is contextual, after all.

So we're using climate change to make more climate change?

13 päeva tagasi

Disagree. Warming temperatures change nature, but not at all necessarily for the worse. If you think nature will go "Oh, you've warmed 5 degrees in the tunda? I guess I'll just stay away then" you're mistaken. This is why I hate the climate change movement. At least Sam did say it's more complicated than that, but then he ended with "sorry, it's all bad". The people living up there love the economic activity and change to alleviate poverty. If you think that doesn't matter, then feel free to switch places with them.

Funny, they said the Maldives and much of the planets costal cities and islands would be doomed and under water by 1999, and irreversible, predicted in 1989... 20 years later, that hasn't happened yet... Oh, and why did Obama just buy a mansion on Martha's Vineyard if all the islands are going to be under water in a few years? Isn't he worried about CO2? If I was, I'd be moving to the Rocky mountains instead... They also neglect to mention that Antarctica is cooling down and the ice there is growing, because this planet fluctuates in temperature. Also, how do we explain the end of the last ice age thousands of years ago? Was it the industrial revolution of 25000 BC?

@Gregory Ashton Sorry about the assumption Gregory, would you mind pointing out the assumption I made about you for me? I don't see it, and I would hate to repeat it in the future. I'm also interested in your aforementioned "research," albeit, a little skeptical about the credibility of your work. What was the area of research (both the geographic confines/limits of your work and the field of inquiry in which the theoretical needs were satisfied)? What was the purpose of the research; "polar bears" as a research topic has, itself, been covered for centuries and at the risk of seeming antiquated, your proposal, methods, objectives must have been incredibly nuanced to warrant a return to such a well-documented topic? Elaborate on the methods in general please, I'm sure they were quite an exploration of forgotten troves at renowned Universities, Museums, and other highly regarded institutions. Through which board of ethics did your research gain approval, and thus credibility? What publications did your research led to? What contribution was made to the general body of knowledge because of your work? Who were some of your colleagues and to what institution or alumni are they a part of? Also, about these courses you mention, what was the purpose/goal of the syllabus (a syllabus is like a guide about what will be taught throughout the course)? For example, are these "courses" referring to conference proceedings, lectures (from adjunct or otherwise), or online? Were they geography, earth sciences, biology? Also through what institution did you access these courses? I have more questions pertaining to the specifics of your research (the results, methods, intrusions, validations, etc.) but I figure I'd start with the general credibility stuff. All of these questions could be answered with a link to your report on the matter/publications/thesis, etc. Looking forward to knowing more about your work on polar bears. Cheers

10 місяців tagasi

Jacob Cameron Ahahaha, wow, that was a broad assumption. I have indeed conducted research and attended courses surrounding polar bear populations, and have found no credible evidence to say that polar bear populations are significantly declining.

You should learn how to conduct research yourself, its a valuable skill and will result in more fruitful knowledge than leaving Youtube comments on an already incredibly informative and well sourced video. A good place to start might be one of the many sources listed in the description, and build from there. Good luck with your research!
